About the Role
Applications for the 2024-2025 NAESC Executive Board are due by Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST. If you submit your application after this due date it is not guaranteed that all members will receive your application information. The President shall have the following powers and responsibilities:
a. To coordinate the responsibilities, duties and activities of the Board of Directors.
b. To serve as a Student Director, and faithfully execute all the fiduciary duties required of the NAESC, Inc. Board of Directors.
c. To facilitate the creation of a strategic plan and monthly timeline for the upcoming year the Summer Face-to-Face meeting. Such a strategic plan should work to accommodate any charges set forth by the Voting Delegates at the previous year’s National Conference. The strategic plan must be approved by the Board of Directors before member schools begin the fall semester.
d. To facilitate the transition process between outgoing and incoming Student Officers and Directors.
e. To create and dissolve ad-hoc committees and positions as needed.
f. To stay abreast of all Executive Leadership Team business and keep the Executive Leadership Team aligned with the NAESC, Inc. Constitution and By-Laws.
g. To act as the official spokesperson of NAESC, Inc.
h. To be accountable for progress towards adaptation of outstanding charges or mandates from the Voting Delegates’ Meetings and manage the Executive Leadership Team in a manner that maximizes their productivity.
i. To plan at least two Face-to-Face meetings of the Executive Leadership Team.
j. To prepare the agenda and legislation for the national Voting Delegates’ Meeting and execute all motions passed therein.
k. To vote at the Voting Delegates’ Meeting in case of a tie.
l. To attend all Executive Leadership Team meetings whenever reasonably possible until September 1 of the following term.
