A Letter from the Host

Aloha mai kākou!

On behalf of the Engineers' Council at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa (ECUH), we are excited about the opportunity to once again bring together engineering student leaders from across the West Region to our home in the heart of the Pacific.

The National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC) was founded to provide means for Engineering Student Councils from across the country to communicate with one another through various programs and events to improve individual councils. NAESC is a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to the continual improvement of the engineering educational experience, representing over 30 engineering student councils at ABET-accredited universities. By continuously fostering communication between its member councils—serving as a unified voice of all Engineering Student Councils throughout the nation—and organizing programs and events such as the West Regional Conference—NAESC is empowering student leaders across the nation.

ECUH will host the 2022 NAESC West Regional Conference (WRC) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Student leaders representing top engineering universities from the Western United States will attend the conference to be held from November 3, 2022 to November 5, 2022. Over 60 students from Arizona State, Oregon State, University of Colorado, UC Irvine, San Diego State, and other member councils have attended the West Regional Conference each year. The 2022 WRC will mark the first West Regional Conference to be hosted in-person in three years, and the first West Regional Conference to be hosted in Hawaii in 10 years.

ECUH is excited to bring together engineering leaders from across the West Region as we journey into a new era. We hope to showcase the engineering and leadership excellence that Hawaii has to offer and create a welcoming and enriching environment for student leaders to come together, share their knowledge, and move forward together.
